My first 10k Race

Sunday morning I ran the Los Gatos 10k Jungle Run. I’ve never run a 10k race before, and I placed 13th out of 472. There were 1300 runners total, but the remainder ran the half-marathon. I didn’t get my goal of under 40 minutes, but that gives me something to keep working towards. Upcoming races I’m entered in are the Primo’s half-marathon in October and soon-to-be registered for the CA International marathon in Sacramento on Dec. 2.

Here’s a picture of Chocolate Hills in Bohol that I haven’t ever posted. I salvaged a bunch of my Philippines pictures from Raphael’s computer when I was in Gainesville last month.

New Tile

Wendy, Bob (her Dad) and I started laying tile in the kitchen area today. They had already pulled up the crappy pergo flooring during the week, and scraped up old linoleum adhesive. I’m glad to be practicing on someone else’s house, so it will be that much easier when I have my own :). I’ll post finished pictures later in the weekend.

Happy 4th of July!

I started yesterday off at the “Run San Ramon.” Wendy and I ran the 5k race, and Erin did the 10k. This is the first race I’ve run since high school, and I managed a 6:40 min/mile overall. Not bad for starting in the back of the pack. Luckily the race was at 8am, because by noon it was 106 degF in the shade! Last night we had a bbq, then rode bikes over to the San Ramon fireworks show.
