Santa Barbara Fireworks

July 5th, 2008 · 3 Comments · B's Blog

Last night as we were leaving a bbq up on the mesa in Santa Barbara, Anna and Oscar found a skunk and decided to give chase. Anna wound up with a decent coating of oily skunk stink across her face. It was really quite nasty and was my first personal dog spraying. She was spitting and drooling and her eyes were burning and watering. We washed her up with the hose and dish soap and let her spend the night on the porch.

I am wondering if your dish soap bath is cutting it or if you are going to have to take more drastic measures.

Anna is working you this week! Max liked to goose the skunks… often. We found the following to work well… first rinse with a mixture of about 4-5 bottles of peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda and a little dish soap. Be sure to rinse with water (we accidentally bleached Max red when we forgot this important step). Then, give a final good soaking with some good ole Summer’s Eve feminine product. Takes a lot of stink out. Good luck!
